Common questions
What do I need to print the cards?
A home printer and ordinary paper or thin card. Print at 100% scale, then cut along the lines. Every download includes A4 and US Letter versions.
Are Calmlings calm-down cards?
Yes. Each Calmling card is a calm-down card, also called a coping skills card: one calming move, like a big slow breath, with a one-line instruction. The Wobble cards are the tricky moments to use them for. Nine calm-down cards are free, and What are Calmlings? has all the facts.
Is there a Calmlings app?
Yes. Open calmfamilyprintables.com/app on your phone or iPad: ten cards are free there, with nothing to buy and no signup. The Starter Set unlocks its 61 cards and the Complete Collection (and the Complete + All 6 Workbooks bundle) unlocks every card: after you buy, paste the licence key from your Polar purchase page (the link is in Polar’s order email). One key works on up to 5 devices. Add it to your Home Screen and the cards you’ve opened or saved work offline. It runs in your browser, so there’s nothing else to install. The printable PDFs stay on your Polar purchase page.
What do I download?
The Starter Set and the Complete Collection both come with a Digital Pack and a Printable Pack. The Complete Collection app unlocks all 1200 cards; its current Digital and Printable Packs contain 1000 original cards. The Printable Pack has the PDFs, with the card backs lined up for double-sided printing, the Tamed! seal sheet and a parent guide. The Complete Collection also has a New cards pack, with the newest cards as pictures and PDFs. The Calmlings app isn’t a download: it opens at calmfamilyprintables.com/app with your licence key (see “Is there a Calmlings app?” above).
Which ages is Calmlings for?
It is drawn for children aged 3 to 12. Younger children play alongside a grown-up, and older children often run the game themselves. Anyone can do the calm moves: see calm moves for any age.
Can I buy it as a gift?
Yes. The download comes to your email, so you can print the cards and wrap them, or share the files with the family. You can also send them the licence key from your Polar purchase page (the link is in Polar’s order email), so the cards open in the Calmlings app on their phone or iPad. Nothing is posted. Is it suitable for autistic and ADHD children?
Calmlings was designed with neurodivergent children in mind: predictable steps, clear pictures and plenty of choice. Every child is different, so use the cards in whatever way works for yours.
How do earned cards work?
Each earned card has a milestone, like a first tame or seven calm bedtimes. When your child reaches one, fill in the check-in form and we’ll email the card with their name on it.
Which currency do I pay in?
Prices show in Australian dollars in Australia, New Zealand dollars in New Zealand, pounds in the UK, Canadian dollars in Canada and euros in most of the euro area, and in US dollars in most other countries. Checkout is by Polar, our payment partner. In the US, Canada and India, any tax that applies is added at checkout. Everywhere else, prices include any GST or VAT that applies.
Can I get a refund?
